why an otter?
Because the best skincare idea we know belongs to an animal with no blubber.
our story
keep, don't fix.
For years skincare was sold to us as a repair job. Strip it back, burn it off, rebuild it with something stronger — then buy the cream that fixes what the last thing did.
Then we read about sea otters. They're marine mammals with no blubber at all. They stay warm with the densest fur in the animal world, and they spend hours a day keeping it: grooming, fluffing, floating belly-up in the sun. They don't fix their coat. They keep it.
Your skin's barrier is your coat. So every velvet otter formula sits on the same base — the coat complex of ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids — with one hard-working active on top, colour-coded by step. Five minutes, five colours, and a barrier that's kept instead of corrected.

Ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids — the lipids a kept barrier is made of — under every single formula.

Each cap is a step: sea-glass, marigold, rose, kelp green, coral. The routine reads at a glance, even half asleep.

Every product is named for something otters do: hold hands, sunbathe, wrap up in kelp, splash about, groom their whiskers.
